1. Data controller

SafeRestMarine is the data controller for personal data collected through the website and app. Contact: hello@saferestmarine.com.

2. What we collect

• Account information: email address, display name and password (encrypted by Firebase Authentication).
• Usage data: work and rest sessions, timestamps, boat membership and any remarks.
• Technical data: browser, device and IP address via Firebase Hosting and Firebase Analytics (if enabled).

3. Purpose of processing

We process data to:

• create and manage user accounts,
• store and display work and rest data,
• generate reports and regulatory alerts,
• operate and secure the service.

4. Legal basis

Processing is based on:

• contract with you as a user (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)),
• our legitimate interest in operating a secure service (Article 6(1)(f)), and
• necessary consent where required by law, such as for cookies.

5. Subprocessors

We use Google Firebase (Google Cloud) as a processor for storage, authentication and hosting. See Firebase privacy documentation for more information.

6. Retention and deletion

Personal data is stored as long as the account is active. You may request deletion of your account and related data at any time. We delete data within 30 days of receiving the request, unless the law requires longer retention.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• access your personal data,
• rectify inaccurate data,
• erasure (right to be forgotten),
• restrict processing,
• data portability, and
• lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and storage on Google Cloud. Access is controlled by Firebase Authentication and security rules. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when the service or regulations change. The latest version is always published on this page.
